I'm rather set on getting a Predator 13. However I cannot find much video on them. Sure there are those who unwrap and rap and those who show off their balancing skills saying the Predator is a stable platform. Problem is; I do not see any You Tube video of a Predator taken into the surf zone.

This is not to say it isn't done, I'm just amazed... as popular as the Predator has been this past year or so; why no video of surf launches? I'm pretty close to Pacific City, even closer to Depot Bay and not really too far from Sunset beach. Anyone launch a Predator in those areas?

With all the recent Predator 13 questions you've had, I thought you already had one.  I may be selling mine soon if you're interested.  Not that it's a bad kayak, but I have too many kayaks and think I might keep my Predator MX instead of the 13, mainly for lake fishing and a little bit of river fishing.

Do not have a Predator yet and may not end up with one.
My next step is to do some demos of different paddle boats to figure out which to buy.
I had originally thought the MX might be what I wanted. Now I'm researching the 13.

Hey I may be selling my Predator 13 as well, and I live much closer  :)

I also have too many kayaks so when it comes to surf launches I grab my Ultra 4.3 and when I'm paddling around a lake, I'm usually fishing with my 8 yr old son so I take the tandem (Malibu 2XL).

In general, it's a great kayak with a super comfortable seat, oodles of stability, and a well thought out deck.  I probably should take it out for a surf launch just because, but I haven't yet.

Ocean Kayak (a sister company to Old Towne) has taken a lot of notes from the Predator and released a new version of the Big Game, called the Big Game II.  Similar seat, mod pod, and deck plates but not the same hull.  It's also a wide boat, but I haven't personally tested it yet to tell you about the stability.  This one is marketed more for the ocean crowd and less so the kayak bass and redfish anglers like the Predator.

Here's the promotional site for it..

Nice Brian, real nice!  :-*

Yeah, buy from Brian, he's only used his Predator for that one trip anyway.  I don't even know if he fishes any more!   >:D

Thanks for the link to the Battleship video. 16 pounds lighter than the Predator.

Too many boats? I've done that. It is going to be difficult for me to buy just one kayak; just too many choices.

Hey, I went fishing last week.... planter trout fishing with my daughter.    Technically, she caught all the fish so maybe that doesn't count.

But you're right about that kayak, it hasn't seen much time on the water since the John Day trip.

That is a great shot Brian. Your daughter looks intrigued.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
