Has anyone ever tried using a drag chain off the stern to keep the yak from getting turned by the wave cuz it looks like that's what happens when landing you get turned then rolled. If you did try it what were the results? Does anyone think it would work?

Not worth it IMO.  Just practice going in and out of the surf and pick your days wisely.

It would be better to practice ruddering to keep your kayak front surfing on the wave, or turning sideways and bracing into the pile to side surf on the wave.

Why in the hell would  you want to drag a chain and take away all the fun of surf landing

           No.....don't even think about it.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Murphy's Law would kick in...

If I used a drag chain, I would find that 1 thing to get caught on across the entire beach...then I would just be on a huge orange and yellow bobber getting my head pummeled by waves.

Not me...I'm crazy, but that's nuts!
I know what I am...My wife tells me all the time!!
