Crossing Westport Bar Kayak (Video)

I put this 2 min clip together of crossing Westport Bar under light conditions, out with the ebb then back against the next ebb about 7 or 8 hours later.

 It didn't look to bad out there. But vids don't always show the true conditions.

 So how was the fishing Were you out past 200'

 I'm sure there is more to this story.

Spent my time going north until I was off Casino (about 8 miles north up coast), then offshore until I was about 6 or 7 miles out. Still only 100' deep or so up there. Red tide dominated up to about 5 miles out. Lots of productivity, even marked coho and saw them jumping but no takers that day.

In the past I've have had good luck running straight out the channel to west and southwest until I get to 200' and deeper, also about 6+ miles out. Just wanted to try a new area this time. Probably head back to the proven spots next time I go.
