After renting a sit-in dual kayak with my son a few weeks ago on Lake Union I decided it seemed like a great hobby to get into. I've also wanted to get back into fishing and crabbing after about a decade away. After a lot of research on entry level models I ordered a Pescador 12 off Amazon with all the trim I'll need to get started. I'm hoping everything arrives in time to get some light tackle fishing on Lake Washington this weekend!
When I found out shrimp cocktails had no alcohol, I really lost interest...

Welcome to the club.   I have been fishing with my 12 year old and the best bonding to fish with your kid. Have fun and see you out on the water.

Tha'ts GREAT!!  I'm a week or 2 away from buying one as well.  I'm looking at the Pompano 120 at the west marine.  They have a few in stock in Ballard.  I'm hoping to hit the sound shortly.  I hope you get your stuff soon.  I'd like to see pictures of your set up

Welcome, and enjoy your new yak.

25 years ago I lived near California & Fauntleroy. Really liked living in West Seattle. Which neighborhood are you in?

Welcome.  Nothing better than fishing with the kid.  until they start out fishing you then you will never hear the end of it.  which is even better.

I think there are a few other people on this site that live in W. Seattle. Hopefully they will chime in.

Hey Sherminator, did you go to school in W.S.?  I lived up the street from westwood village. Moved from there 30 years ago Des Moines.

Dr - I am old enough that 25 years ago was still well after school for me. I lived there only one year, renting my mother's house from her when she remarried. Moved to Oregon after the one year in W Seattle, but my mother moved back to her house so I visited her there a lot before she retired and moved to Burlington, 'WA.
