Can't believe there is only 23 days to go! Time to start thinking about the potluck and what we are gonna bring.  So chime in with what you are planning on bringing and i will  compile the list on this first post

Dana is willing to bring his fryer for a fish fry but would like some help and all fish needs to be fileted before it's donated. Thanks foryour  help in this endevour. We are just gonna do a fish fry, not fish tacos. Will need oil and batter/breading.

Dudi and Roy- green chili chicken mac and cheese and cowboy cavier
Dana - Plates, silverware and bowls, oil and breading for fish
Chris and Andrea- Quacamole, chips and side dish
Josh and Brandy- soda, water and ice and side dish
Lauren and Christine- Taco fixins and gluten free breading
Dave- Kim's famous macaroni salad
Erik and Esther- Fruit salad and au gratin taters
Craig- Beef and veg kabobs

Andrea is going to make her awesome guacamole and bring chips. She's also thinking about making this delicious shredded BBQ chicken that you sandwich into a Hawaiian sweet roll.

I haven't decided if I should make a cheddar beer soup with local 7 Devils Brewery Session Ale, or a salmon chowder. Hmmmm. I'm hungry now.

I gotta think about what I plan to bring, and help with.

I haven't been able to make it since the first AOTD event, so you may have this figured out already just not published.  So, I'm sure others like me would like to know some basic details added to this section.

Where do you plan to have the potluck?
What time do you plan to start eating, after the 2pm weigh in deadline?
Will we have access to power for the potluck?
Will we have a covered area to work with, if not do we need to provide any Quick Shades?
Do we need tables?
Ice for beer keg?
Any plans for a fire to sit around?
When do you plan to do the awards? Before, during or after the potluck?

Hey Craig, I'm happy to help out with the prep/cooking.
Let me know if there is anything that you think you'll need that you don't want to have to pack. I might have something or have access to things.

That's cool.

Just need to know what we're working with so I can plan my attack.   ;)

Don't quote me on this, but I think everything will try to be set up in the same spot as last year. There isn't any access to power though. It's just some grass and tables. Look through last year's pictures of the event to get an idea of where we were set up. Some kind of covering would have been nice. It got really sunny after the fog burned off.

Where do you plan to have the potluck?

Potluck will be in the same arae as the first AOTD, the grassy area by the launch. Tried to get the kiosk but missed it by a few days!...

What time do you plan to start eating, after the 2pm weigh in deadline?

Plan to start eating in the 5:30-6:00 range to give people a chance to get fish cleaned and relax a bit before.

Will we have access to power for the potluck?

No power unless someone brings a gennie, but not one of those loud ones!
Quote
Will we have a covered area to work with, if not do we need to provide any Quick Shades?

No covered area so will need to bring quick shades and please do if you have one, i don't have one..
Quote
Do we need tables?

there are a few picnic tables but i imagine with the amount of people attending having extras wouldn't hurt. I will bring one folding table.
Quote
Ice for beer keg?

The more ice the better if in doubt, bring it out!
Quote
Any plans for a fire to sit around?

Yes, there is a fire pit there and we will have a fire, not sure on the wood but i think i might have a bit to contribute.
Quote
When do you plan to do the awards? Before, during or after the potluck?

Awards ceremony after the eats, about 7:30 or so...
[/quote]

Thanks Craig for bringing up these important issues. Next year i will have the group camp and the Kiosk reserved so we can all hang out together and have some electricity for the cooking

Alrighty then!   :icon_thumleft:

I will bring a Quick Shade to help with some shade.  And a folding table.
I can bring my Honda EU2000i genny that is really quiet if anyone thinks they might need some power down there.

Sounds like you have fish frying under control as far as equipment goes. Thx Dana!

I might have to ponder grilling something tasty on my Son-Of-Hibachi charcoal grill.

Or, pack the UFO and deep fry some cinnamon rolls, hot and tasty!

I also will bring a quick shade and can bring another honda if needed. I am pretty sure that HOW Portland can bring their mondo shade and tables as needed.
As for food, will have to see what Diane has planned.

I have the oil and breading for deep frying the fish.

I will need help prepping and cooking the fish.

If your donating fish for the fish fry please bring fillets not hole fish.

Thanks
