Ok so this was my third weekend out on the water with nothing. I did get to peddle alongside a pod of porpoise, but that was the most exciting thing that happened. Looked like the porpoise were feeding on bait balls, but no fish. Am I just hitting the water too early in the year? I'm running a down rigger at about 80-90 feet and spoons. Still pretty new at salmon fishing. Any advice from the more experienced fisherman?

What time of day are you getting out there?  I'd recommend getting out early in the morning.  I think it is a little early for silvers, but not for kings.  I fished Meadow point a lot last year and I didn't catch that many fish.  I am considering moving North a little and trying out of Edmonds or Richmond beach.  I have spoken to a few people who think that is a better area.

You could try switching to cut plug herring rather than spoons.  You might catch a seal but at least that would liven up the day for while...  :)

Drive out to seikiu or neah bay, maybe west port.

No joy yet. I'm heading back out of West Point again this weekend if anyone is interested. Weather may be a bit rainy, but hope that conditions are still good.

Limited out Coho. Great time on the water, it was like glass most of the morning. Heading back out tomorrow morning (Monday Sept. 1) if anyone cares to join me.
