First time out was nehalem bay last weekend in my new outback. Learned alot but no fish. I'd like to make Nehalem one of my frequent spots and am good with going back to wheeler for another try but reading about bouy 10 is enticing. I have a good drysuit and a stable boat, good PFD, flag, whistle, VHF... and I've sailed the columbia alot so I know the weather can come up fast. Given that, is Bouy 10 the place to go? Are there specific spots that are better for kayaks? Other spots upriver? Comments on fishing methods? I'm a newbie salmon angler but I have several years of sea kayaking and sailing behind me. Just want to learn fast so I can get some salmon on the BBQ this fall. Any advice is appreciated.

One suggestion... Attend Spot's fall salmon seminar tomorrow - he covers some really great details on safety, rigging, where, when, and how.  Great chance to meet many that have had or do have the same questions!
