With all the river fishing going on I think PC this flat must be hit in masses. Not sure what day I'm going yet but post up if your wanting to fish it salmon or bottom.

I saw the magic seaweed- and Sunday is a go for me.  I'm headed over tonight and staying in PC.  I will be there 6-7am at launch w/ Navy Blue Dodge PU matching canopy and fishing in a gray emotion.  I'll be CH 69 to monitor the action,

Thinking I might head over also. Thinking this may be my last window of opportunity for ocean fishing this year.

I will be there Sunday as well blue subaru outback with a green Jackson big tuna aircraft carrier on top. Thinking bottom fish followed by salmon if some of you guys got advise for a salmon virgin.

You are welcome to join me on the salmon troll. We can find them together. Its pretty easy. Look for birds, slicks, and rips in nasty brown cold water.

I fished from 8 AM to 2:30 PM. I initially started north of the rock, then peddled out west of the rock with the rest of the kayak fleet, and the dabbled around the rock after noon. It was definitely not hot fishing. In the morning I was running smaller gear, Gulp Sandworms on #2 hooks. I later transitioned to shrimp flies and diamond jigs but those produced zip so I went back to the small stuff which seemed to be what they wanted.

I caught about 8 Kelp Greenling in the 8-16" range, 2 small Blacks and 1 decent sized keeper, and 2 China Rockfish. It seemed fish were few and far between for most. I did not pursue salmon but listening to the dory boats it seemed like a long haul out to them and I didn't hear of any Coho success among the kayak fleet.

I'll be back out banging the bottom trying to hail a Cabbie.

We had a great day of fishing and floating at PC today.  Fishing was a little slow, but with time there were some real nice fish taken.  In our group of three we had three Lings that were about 30 in along with some smaller keepers, some nice rock fish and a Cabazon.  We even got my wife to join us for some of the fun

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

I forgot to mention that myself as well as several other kayak anglers had a close encounter with a Gray Whale that was hanging around the Cape. Pretty cool!!!
