Looking for a safer spot to park to launch my kayak on the Duwamish other than Duwamish Waterway Park. Today two other kayaker's cars were broken into right next to my vehicle. Any suggestions? I'd even consider a pay boat launch.

You can always launch at Codiga Park and head down river where it is legal to fish from a floating device. I recommend using wheels to help get to the river from the parking lot. I've never had any problems with car break-ins at this location.

Craftycav,
About how long of a paddle to the Duwamish from Codiga Park and is there anything to beware of on the trip down river?

According to Google Earth it's about 9 river miles from that park to the mouth of the river.  Can't help with anything else.

Fort dent park supposedly has a rough place to launch. I was at  codiga park yesterday and fish were rolling one guy limited out and another said the were doing better up river from codiga. It's legal until the 1st ov Nov to fish from 405 bridge all the way down.it's 12 miles from ft dent park to the mouth only one little riffle to contend with from the looks of Google earth. I was thinking about doing a run from ft dent down to codiga it's a short float but easy fishing I would think.

That's a negative on a launch site at ft dent.you might want to try the Tukwila community center area.
