All fisherman lie...
I'm sure you have heard that before. What I find most kayak fisherman lie about is how far it is to a given point when you ask "How far of a paddle it is to your fishing spot?" LOL I discovered a good web site to help figure distance to a given point or multiple points that you choose. Finding it's pretty handy and can help others. So true....

Doesn't offer the multiple points but it can be overlayed onto their chart products... I use it quite a it.  Click on the sonar icon bottom left to get more details.  Compass on bottom right to get distance.

Cool. I use Google Earth for the same purpose. You can also overlay your compatible GPS dump onto Google Earth to see your track for the day, like the attached.

I like knowing how far I paddled in a day of fishing.  I have a handheld GPS which will provide that information.  The GPS screen on my Humminbird fish finder shows the route I followed during the day, but I don't know any way to get the fish finder to cough up the distance I traveled during the day. I wish I could figure out a way to figure out how far I traveled from my fish finder, so I wouldn't need to carry my handheld GPS to get that information.

Not sure which hummingbird you have but both my 597 and 385 log total miles. You can either reset the counter or just note where you started each day at. It is in the view that shows you your battery voltage. Just scroll through the views to find it.

Speaking of lying..
Unless you're on a lake, how much of our total GPS trip logs are actually paddle/pedaling vs drifting with the current?

I must be doing it wrong, I always seem to be going *against* the currents Hmmmmm   :P

If you're in the open ocean,  there is generally a constant direction,  so it should cancel out.  Rivers can be deceiving though.
