Greetings from Lake Stevens

I just started fishing off of a kayak this year.  I'm burned out on the time/overhead requirements of boat ownership.  Not to mention the idiotic mayhem of local boat launches.  I've also grown weary of combat fishing from limited public access points on local rivers.  Kayak fishing seemed like a good alternative.  Although I still fish with my buddy on his boat I'm enjoying having the kayak option.  This forum seems like a perfect fit for those who want to share their experience so others don't have to learn the hard way on every venture.

I picked up a 2014 Jackson Cuda 12 in January and have set it up with an in-hull transducer for a Garmin 150 FF.  I also set up a custom down-rigger mount off of a milk crate.  It's been working pretty well.  I'm looking to see how it handles on the Snohomish river.  I'll be looking for advice on anchoring up on a river since it seems like that could be dicey if not done correctly.  Thanks in advance for all your input.
