   uso78,
I have just looked over all of your posts so far to get a little background info.
That said-------- congratulations on your new kayak. The Revo 13 is a favorite of many of our members.
From your previous posts---- I don't believe you'll be doing anything rash or stupid to start out. You have done your homework and good on you for that.
When I said you need to get that boat wet--- I'm basically saying -- go to some easy water, see how the new boat feels underneath you, and as you are testing it out.... try to imagine how you want to outfit your kayak for future fishing expeditions. Think about placement of pole holders, fish-finders, and any other rigging options that might appeal to you. Do this a couple of times. That will help you decide on what modifications you may want to do in the future before you start drilling holes.
In the Ballard area there have to be a few places that have calm water. Use those to aquaint yourself with your new boat then start to push your limits and expand your horizons to bigger and badder water. Take your time, find your comfort level, and then push it a little as you become more familiar with your gear.
You seem to be entering a whole new world of opportunities. Be patient, observe all you can, and learn every day. This forum has a tremendous wealth of knowledge. Grow from that knowledge and add to it when you can. Because in time you will have gained and learned. Then share with others.
Have fun and keep posting up to share your adventures and growth.

This is much more elloquently said than they way I said it.
