Was planing on going duck hunting but the tides were wrong and the son decided to be with his wife on her birthday (newly wed and oh so wise.) so I have decided to spend one last Sunday on American Lake.  I will be launching as close to sunrise as I can get my body out of bed and on the road from exit 122.  Could be a bit rainy and breezy, but that is Western WA in November.  Anyone is welcome to join in the fun or say Hi out on the water.

Well I had an ok day.  Certainly will be the last trip for me until spring.  I managed one nice (17.5 inches) buck.  I started fishing with the rigger set at 15 feet and after two passes nothing so I lowered it down to 24 and 5 min. later nailed this guy.  That chartreuse and black pattern has been awesome for me and it got me another fish this time.   I stayed until 12ish and the wind did pick up.  I managed to get one little 8 inch trout that I released.  I also made some GoPro videos that turned out great BUT they were deleted in the editing process!  A friend is going to try and recover them for me and we will see.  May be gone forever.

Here is the buck after he sat in a sink of ice water until after the Seahawks game.  He was really dark when I caught him but the color faded to this.  Meat quality was ok, we will put him in the oven tonight for dinner.

Next fish will be chum in the salt.  But ducks are calling my name.

American can produce really large bows in the winter.  I pulled a 24 inch rainbow out of there in January or February a few years back.

There are a couple of seasons in my home.  There is hunting season which runs from 2week in Oct until End of January and then following that is "Remodel" season where I do all the honey do's until fishing season.  If I shortchange remodel season the othere seasons get shorter. lol  ;D

John, who works for RAM Mounts, fished American Lake on Sunday with his brother pulled this monster rainbow trout while casting a Roostertail spinner.  Measured 30 inches and close to 8lbs.
