Hello Everyone,

I am posting two fish finders that I looked at today and wanted to get your opinion.  I know it comes down to me and my preference but I do value your opinion and why not ask the pro's... :).

I am kinda of leaning towards the Elite 4 HDI because it is slim lined - but my eyes are not as good as they use to be and the bigger screen may help more.

For those who have helped me on my introduction to this website last week - I did and am buying the safety gear - I think the only thing I need to purchase is the flare gun - flare pin gun.

I tried posting picture earlier this week "twice" but failed to have them post????  I asked the mods for help but did not get any response. :(

I will post what I have purchased on another thread - posting.

Thank you for all your help..

Best Regards,

Roger[/img]

I have the Elite 4 and just now learning all of what it will do. Another one of those tools with a learning curve... Drat!
Mine is mounted quite close so the small screen is not an issue.

One feature I've found that I do not like on the Elite 4HDI is the glossy screen. Can't tell you if all fish finders use that glass but it's annoying to see yourself in the screen instead of the bottom features.

BTW... I'm not an expert on the 4HDI, mine is only a month old.

BOE Marine is running a special at the moment too.... $502.41 for the Elite-5 Gold.   (If I'm selecting the same model you have posted).

I got the HDI 7 last year.  I wanted the HDI 5, but none in stock.  It is only 2 inches bigger + bigger screen for running the three way split.

Well it looks like I am going with the Elite 5 Gold HDI - the one that has the lake depth & sea depth.

Thank you all for your professional input.
