Hi everybody!

I'm "GBATE," which is kind of an unfortunate user name, but I was stumped, so I used the letters from a bumper sticker I would like to have made one day: God Bless All Trout Everywhere. (I'm not particularly religious, except when it comes to fly-fishing!)

So, I was a lurker on this site until I saw a photo of Salmon Lake in Montana icing over, which was posted by a member who is also a Montanan. It's good to know I'm not the only kayak fisher in Montana!

I also have friends that moved back to Oregon this past year. They've been sending me and my husband photos of some gorgeous salmon they've been catching over there, and I've been trying to convince them they need to get some yaks and take up kayak fishing. (I think I'll tell them about this forum to get them even more interested in the idea.)

Anyway, thanks for having me! I'm looking forward to taking part in the forum.

Take care, y'all!

GBATE

Welcome to the forum.  We look forward to seeing some pictures and hearing some tall tales from you on all things fishy.  I grew up in Polson and chased brook trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, lake trout and oh yeah, perch.  Now, I live in Oregon and kayak fish for chinook - it is SO MUCH FUN.  This forum is great for sharing and learning, and I've met a bunch of great people.  Wish you the same.

Welcome to the forum, GBATE.  Since we both live in Missoula, we should exchange contact information so we can hook up for some fishing.  I'll send you a message.  There don't seem to be very many kayak fishers in Western Montana.  I've been doing some posting in the "Montana" subforum in hopes of smoking out some more kayakers to fish with.
