I've been seeing quite a few posts in the past couple of months on kayak rigging for hunting.

I've posed the idea to RAM Mounts to explore the idea of creating a gun mount (likely for a shotgun / rifle).  I'm not much of a hunter but I'm curious what you all are using or would like to see in a gun mount for your kayak.  Any type of feedback is appreciated and I will certainly keep you updated with any type of products coming to market.

I don't use a mount. Kinda lay it across my right thigh and the front bulkhead when sitting in wait, then between my legs when I have to retrieve. A shoulder strap with enough buoyancy to float a full length loaded 12ga would interest me though. I've got a floating case for the long haul, but it's the quick snap shots when paddling over deep water that somewhat concern me.

I use one part of the two part system gun mount by Hobie. I have one of the two forks placed on the right side , close to the down cord handle. The fore stock rests in it while the butt stock sits into the back tray.

I use the gun mount in traveling mode and when stalking sitting birds.
