There is much to be thankful for this year, especially the salmon run that is so reluctant call it quits. I encourage you to get out there & test your luck & there's a good chance we will continue to be rewarded. Today the Big C was glass at times & the bite picked up around 10:30Am. I was fortunate to limit out with two beautiful brights & a bright red native Nook that I released. One very encouraging surprise was what I found in a belly besides eggs. There were at least 8-10 of these bait fish in her belly!

Nice Job.  Are those juvenile shad?

Really cool to catch salmon that far up with something in their stomach.  Great quality fish for this time of year.

Smelt? I was hoping some wise veterans would provide some answers cause the old men at the boat launch were dumbfounded.

Impressive! It's great to see another awesome report from you! I'm on my way to the Columbia right now so I'll let you guys know how it goes later tonight when I get back. I had a buddy that fished the Columbia on Friday and caught at least 10 Coho with most being somewhat bright. Today's forecast is supposed to be very similar to yesterday so I hope to see some others up there. Get out and enjoy it!

Way to go, man! This just hasn't been my fall for anything. I'm always a week late, and then a week after that the bite picks up again. It's hard to accept my fate but I'm glad you guys are still getting action.

I would be UplandSandpiper would be able to identify those juveniles. The last one looks like you can make out the tell-tale spots maybe? If so then then I'd guess they are juvenile American Shad (what we out West here just call "shad").

We found a few. All were dark coho and mostly males, but the bite and weather were nothing at all like we had hoped for. Wind was forecasted to be very light( 3-8 ), but we found it be more like sustained at 15-18 mph most of the morning and early afternoon. Was guiding 2 very nice ladies who still had fun and were total troopers. Definitely moving on to steelhead now.

Any reports? I know a lot of the fish are getting dark and the numbers in the mainstem are dwindling, but I'm still considering a trip up there Saturday.

If anyone has any intel I'll owe you.
