I've been wanting to try a salmon soup for some time, and today I finally got after it.  I've made an awesome crab bisque in the past, so I did have some confidence going in.  At first I followed a typical recipe for a clear soup, but then decided it needed a creamy flavor/texture.  Plus some additional spice was needed.  So, I basically went back to the bisque recipe near the end and to the clear soup added the cream, paprika and curry powder.  It turned out great!

That looks great. We make lots of soups especially this time of year. My wife , having never made a fish soup before, just made a batch of salmon chowder from an internet recipe and used smoked salmon instead of plain which was called for. It was probably one her best efforts yet.

Yes, amazing how good it tastes.  I'll go straight to salmon chowder next time.
