My VHF took a dump early this fall and I have yet to replace it. I have looked locally --- but shopping is very limited in my small town. I'll be in Portland tomorrow for the Sturgeon Social Sunday and need to shop for a new radio. Any of you locals offer a suggestion of a good shop that might have some variety of brands I can check out. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I like Fisherman's Marine. There are three stores for your convenience. I was in the Beaverton store yesterday. They had quite the selection, some of them on sale.

When I went into the Fisherman's in Tigard, they didn't have handhelds. I ended up picking up one at Cabela's. That reminds me, I need to mail in the rebate slip. I got distracted with the Mexico trip.  Mark, if you do hit Cabela's, I have a $20 off your purchase of $100 coupon you can have.  I live about 2 minutes from there and could meet you.

The new West Marine in Jantzen beach has plenty of handhelds. I picked up an MX290 for $129 and got a $20 mail in rebate. So $109 ain't bad!

That is the same one I bought.  So far I am very happy with it.
