Been fishing from the bank in Oregon for years, got a Pro Angler kayak about a year and a half ago and love it! I have mostly fished for trout and bass near or around the Portland Area, but am looking forward to eventually hooking into some bigger fish (salmon, sturgeon, etc).

It's funny, I started with a float tube. I soon realized how many more fish you can get when not stuck on the bank. Problem was, I would normally venture out on smaller lakes with my wife who has a small, sit on top kayak she just paddles around in. I got tired of her being able to explore all the corners of a lake and me being stuck to the specific areas/distances that I was able to kick flip to (and back) in my tube. So I stepped up and got me a Kayak. Man - I love it! Now...only problem is I find myself wanting a big boy boat. Maybe this spring, we'll see!

Anyway it's amazing how much one can learn from forums when putting in the time, so I hope to learn a lot and offer anything up I can in the meantime to all the members here, cheers!

The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Welcome! Lots of good advice here on getting on top of some salmon and sturgeon. Look for the events posts too. Seminars and on-the-water events are great ways to meet the people here.
