Great report Yaktastic. Congrats!

With the retention open, do the regs allow fisherman to continue fishing after harvesting a keeper, or is it like salmon and steelhead where you must stop fishing all together once you have a limit?

Thanks.

Nice fish yaktastic! Let us know how it eats. I've only had sturgeon once.

I am going to cook some tonight. I will probably smoke half of it.

So the weather is looking half decent this weekend so I'm really going to try and make it down.  I'd still be heading to the mouth of the Deschutes if anybody is interested in joining up.

Hey Justin, what website and city do you use for seeing the weather at the mouth of the Deschutes?

The Dalles is located like 8 miles away.  Any website will do... they are all wrong.

Cool, yeah I was asking because I've found the wind forecast to be all over the board in the gorge (naturally), so I didn't know if you had a bead on a good micro-local forecast. I probably won't make it that far from home Saturday but I'll ping you if we're going to head up there.

You can try Weather Underground.  I used to use it to check winds at the local RC airfield before loading up all of my planes and driving up there.

Just zoom into where you are heading and click on the closest weather station to there for realtime info.

Roads look good, weather looks good, camper is ready to hook up and kayak needs loaded....

I'll be staying that the campground at the mouth of the Deschutes if anybody is interested.  I'll be fishing all day Saturday (with breaks) and Sunday morning.

Maybe I'll see some of you out there.
