Welcome to the Pacific Northwest.  I thought you were moving up earlier in the spring.  Anyway, enjoy the weather while you can.  I moved to Portland last November, just in time for the endless clouds and rain for 6 months.

B.S.,

You'll find no sympathy from those of us who endure 9 to 10 months of rains futher north.   :(

Just remember:
Every time it rains, another school of salmon or steelhead heads up a river.
And, there's no such thing as bad weather, there's only bad gear.

Oh, I'm not really complaining about the weather  (I leave that to my wife).  Having grown up in the Northeast, I'm actually enjoying having a winter again.  It really doesn't bother me much, I even biked to work through the winter.

Anyway, as soon as I finally get that first winter steelhead this winter, I'll be loving the rain.

Welcome to the neighborhood YN. And no worries, it'll all come together in due time. Salmon fishing is best in summer but there's plenty of black mouth throughout the year along with other good fishing.

Beers are good, and Portland is great for beer.  We have the lots of local breweries and one of Portland's many nicknames is "Beervana".  Let me know when you're in town and I'll try and make it out for a pint or two.

Yep, July is Oregon Craft Beer Month and the big Oregon Brewer's Festival is next weekend.  The Portland International Beer Festival was this last weekend.
