Looking to get my first hobie.  Any ideas or places to go and get the best deal. Not picky if new or used. Just has to be in good shape. No damage to hull or mirage drive

This is a good time to be looking for a used Revolution, because the 2015 Revolutions and Outbacks have a lawn chair style seat rather than the stiffened nylon seats used in prior years.  And a lot of Hobie fanatics who want to own the latest model are selling Revolutions and Outbacks which are only a year or so old and buying 2015 models.  Check the Hobie Cat Forum, ( http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/index.php ), the Hobie fishing facebook group, and Craigslist.  Consider posting want ads in those websites, as a Hobie owner who is thinking "If I could find an easy buyer for my Revolution, I'd upgrade to the 2015 model" may respond.  And if a retailer is having trouble selling its 2014 inventory, you may be able to persuade it to reduce the price of a 2014 Revolution.  The transducer pocket first appeared in the 2013 Revolutions, and in my opinion is a major advantage.  If you find an earlier Revolution for sale, think about how you are going to mount the transducer before you buy it.

I don't have any objection to the pre-2015 Hobie seats, and can spend long days in them without any discomfort.  But some people find them uncomfortable.  I suggest that you demo a pre-2015 Revolution or Outback and see what you think of the seat.  If you find it uncomfortable, you should consider choking up the extra bucks for a 2015 model.

Your profile does't say were you are at, bit Yeagers in Bellingham has a red revo on sale that they can't seem to unload. They might be open to an offer.

I just bought a 2015 Rev11, still have my 2013 ( it's for sale ) the new seat is wonderful, no sitting in a puddle anymore. It's a lot of money to essentially just get the seat but glad I did it. On the transducer pocket the 11 still doesn't have it, maybe the 2016 model will get it, but I use the duct seal method and am quite happy with it. I find the 11 perfect for me for fishing or sailing with inflatable amas, I'm 5'10" 160lb and 65 years, loads in my Ram 1500 with the tailgate down very easy.
