Here's my problem.I have not this rod apart since last 2013. I can not get this sucker apart.any suggestions on anything that will get in the joint without damage to the epoxy coating. Can I use cooking oil,wd40,pb blaster?

Any help would be great.

I have a similar problem.  I have a telescoping rod which I use when whitewater kayaking, and the end section got stuck in the extended position.  Any suggestions for busting it loose without busting the tip of the rod?

Try these:
1.  use rubber gloves so your hands dont slip - twist and pull- dont use the guides for leverage
2.  get two guys, facing each other, to twist and pull together
3.  bag of ice to cool off the joint for about 15 min or more
If these dont work - you still have a one piece rod!

Problem solved.2 frozen bags of vacuum packed salmon sandwiched around the joint and a pair of rubber gloves.didn't even need the gloves but I didn't know that.only sat for 3 minutes or less and pulled right apart. Now we know!!!!
