Anybody want to go to west port tomorrow for some rockfish? The forecast is 3 ft at 11 sec with wind waves 1 or less. The tide will be out going until about 12 or so. It's too easy the tide will help take you out in the morning and take you back in the afternoon. Anybody interested?

It's looks like 10 to 12 out of the east. The revo will cut right through the wind. Thanks for the heads up.

Magic Seaweed is forecasting offshore winds of 10-12 mph sustained with gusts over 25 mph all day long...that will be VERY sporty.

East wind gusting to 25 mph with  a westerly swell @ 3 ft could mean the wind waves will be more than 1 ft.

Good luck if you go for it.

  You just might need it.

The national weather service uped the wind forecast this morning. I'll save it for another day. I have fished the jetty before. I usually get 2 to 3 rockfish and 1 cab or lingcod. Last year after the lingcod opener the fishing went down hill. We had great weather Jan and Feb last year. Long range weather models are looking up.

I've been watching the Westport web cam http://www.westportcam.com/ and it doesn't really look too bad out there. But like you said --- there is always tomorrow.

You might want to take a look at deep zoom as you are planning a trip.
  http://www.deepzoom.com/indexSilverlight.aspx#/Views/Boat.xaml
It will show you current speed for the day and give you a good idea of how "friendly" the moving water will or won't be depending on where you are going.
Personally I would rather fish with the current than against it. Just have to find the right tides.
Be sure and let us know how you do. Seems to me a lot of people want to get out there.  ::) ::) ::)

Hope you get into some fish.........
