Been a good week so far, got a new kokatat angler suit, a stohlquest fisherman PFD, and got a chance to go out in the channel this am for my 1st trip in the tarpon I bought from DWB. Surprised at how much more stable that tarpon is compared to the sit in kayaks I'm used to, felt great, easy to get comfortable in very fast.
Downsides, I was unaware that kayaks were required to have the invasive species permit, sheriff was very, very nice, didn't write me up, for some stupid reason I assumed that only power boats had to have them. Not sure why it didn't click in my mind, anyway, I now have one, so good to go.
Will be taking my 1st fishing trip tomorrow, going to head out off of gilbert boat ramp and try flatlining or drifting plugs for springers in the channel close to where it empties into the Columbia.
Big thanks to Wobbler for inviting me to go sturgeon fishing with him on Wed, sorry I had to cancel, was going to take me to long to get all my stuff together and didn't want to hold you up.
John
