I will be in the Sellwood area.  I don't know what I'm doing so I am hoping someone with experience is also there.   ;D

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

Schwag bags are packed, a keg of hopworks is ready to be picked up, and the grill will get fired up.
If you still need to turn in a waiver or sign up CJ will be at the shop around 8am. everyone must have a waiver turned in to have a valid weigh in, you can also email a completed and signed waiver to [email protected]
Looking forward to a great turn out and some fantastic weather!

I got skunked today.  I met some other members today, smokeyangler and StevM, and it was a beautiful day out so it wasn't a total loss ;D.  Thanks for the help carrying my kayak up the steps smokey.

I hope others did better.

OK, Chris. ...I know I was all congatulatory and nice at the weigh in, but secretly I am jealous as all hell of your fish and your prize. Come in from out of town and show us how to do it... ;)
Seriously, congrats to you and everyone that caught fish today.
Thanks NA for the tourney, swag, beer and excellent bbq. Nice to meet ya all today!

Congrats chris!  But...who caught the biggest pikeminnow?

A great event. Nice to put some faces to names and chew the fat about kayak fishing with eveyone.

I did catch a nice 2 lb pikeminnow under the St. Johns bridge. Should of brought it to the weigh in.

From Heroes on the Water thank you to everyone at Next Adventure for throwing the Chinook Showdown for us yesterday. Everyone had an awesome time and the food was amazing. Thanks to Hopworks Urban Brewery for the delicious refreshments. We haven't heard the total money raised, but thanks to all who turned out it was a great day for HOW.  Thanks for helping HOW connect with more warriors.

Here were the final standings.

Thanks to NA and the organizers for all the effort!  No  fish in my boat!  Donated two full set-ups to the Hawthorn bridge in the process of not catching the little buggers!

Thanks for the HOW fundraising efforts too!  As a veteran of the Gulf war in '91 it is much appreciated!

Wasn't able to make it to the weigh in but it sounds like you did things right!

Had a great time! Even though not all of us got into fish, it was still a blast! Thanks for putting on the event! Nice meeting some new people out there too!

 Hey Lingling,

Would you mind putting names to the faces of the winners. I recognize some but not all and I'm sure others would appreciate it too. Thanks...
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

What a great day to be on the water!  Yesterday was a lot of fun!!  I was totally excited to catch a fish and have something to weigh in, but I was oh so jealous that Chris beat me by TWO pounds to take home the grand prize!  Way to go, Chris, Congratulations on First Place.  Thanks to Next Adventure for the BBQ and the great prizes, and organizing a great tourney.
