Thanks NA for the sweet prize! I had a lot of fun. I  really didn't think I had the winning fish(my money was on Rawkfish). My catch got smaller as the adrenaline wore off, so I was really sweating it at the weigh-in.

It was nice to see everyone and meet some new people. Also, the pork tenderloin was amazing!

PS the jackpot money is going to cover the parking ticket I found on my windshield today  :police:

Glad I could help you out.

Finally got one!

Here is an action shot of me prancing in to the weigh-in with a minute to spare. I almost got hit by a Mercedes.  I forgot to look both ways while sprinting in with my fish.

Little Cos and I witnessed Barb catch her fish on the troll.  She fought and landed her springer right under our noses, without making a peep, any commotion, high fiving, or cheering.  She's got skills!

After Barb landed the fish, she quietly paddled over to a sandy beach to process the fish. That's when I first took notice. I looked over, watching, thinking she had snagged up and was on shore re-tying her rig, and then thought, nobody takes that long to re-rig.  Then Little Cos say, " she's not re-rigging dad, she's bleeding a fish!"  In what looked like a parade of power boaters and kayakers all trolling through the same area, Barb didn't disappoint, again!

We paddled by her, congratulated her for the great fish, and told her to give the rest of us a chance, and leave some for us!

Great Job Barb! You definitely have that spot and technique figured out!

We weren't able to make it to the awards, due to a conflict, but congratulations to all of the winners.

Thanks to all that attended and the sponsors of this first event.  When I came on board with Next a few months back and said i wanted to host a spring event i never imagined it would have had the support and turn out that we did.  My goal was 30 anglers and at last count i believe we were at just over 40, yall rock!

I would love your guys feedback and also thoughts on making this an annual event.  Still have to do final numbers but we shoukd have raised over 500.00 for HOW.

Thanks again for coming out folks, i look forward to the coming years and the growth that our kayak fishing program holds for everybody!

Great to see everyone out there and meet some new people. What a beautiful day to be on the water, even if the bite wasn't terrific. Congrats to all the prize-earners!

Thank you to Next Adventure for setting up the event and for the swag bags and BBQ. It was a good scene and the new stuff in the shop looks great.

Here's my shot of LingLing Herro's champion fish.
