Hope you guys are watching the forecasts...currently an 8.5' swell at 12 sec out of the SW with winds gusting to 29mph. SW swell is the worst possible direction for the La Push bar as the swell will be rolling directly into the river...Hopefully it will improve for you but normally conditions like those will result in a small craft advisory.

Just a friendly word of caution, There's a CG station right there in the Marina and they'll cite you for going out under an advisory...Ask me how I know.

I just looked at Saturdays forecast for Westport and it doesn't look all that great either.      http://magicseaweed.com/Westport-Surf-Report/310/

Like 6-9' surf --- winds gusts up 38 mph around noon. Might have to start paying closer attention. And re-think this Saturday goings on.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

8ft with 29mph don't be puss Gordon. You tried to get me to stay fishing in that at destruction island.
That was the day we had to surf launch through 31 waves before we hit the really bad water.
But on a serious note, It seems that every opening weekend accept halibut is always crap weather, always better to wait until the weekend following.

Good news for me though is that if the opening weekend is blown out it's more likely I'll have company the following weekend(s).
