I'm looking for a few launch sites that are kayak cart friendly and hoping to avoid the launch ramp circus, fees, hassle, as Springer season ramps up  (best enjoyed as a spectator after fishing with a beer in hand). Either side of the river works!

Thanks!
Dave

Here's a good one. This will get you easy access to Davis Bar.

Are you wanting to stay near Portland--- or further out than that ?

  Lots of options out there.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Thanks Rawkfish!

Mark, I'm just getting started in the area and am looking for a variety of launch sites to choose from, close to home and farther away. I'm happy to drive for some variety.

For the I5 bridge area use the park just east of Joe's Crab Shack.

For the St. Helens/Bachelor Island area use Austin Pt.

Kelley Point Park
Reeder Beach
Collins Beach  ;D

Take a look at Google Maps.  You'll find hundreds of potential launches on both sides of the river.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Kelly Point at the end of Marine Drive. You can use the paved path all around the point. Or, just before the main parking lot there is a small lot that you can launch into the Columbia Slough which will dump you into the Willamette and then into the Columbia.
