That is a nice map.  Will all of those species be "in season" for the tournament?

Yes they will and that's what we're targeting.

Stopped and talked to Rick today and springers are starting to be pulled out around mamalusa along the south channel, crabbing is starting to pick up, the perch are biting in the ghost hole and are about the size of a 5 gallon bucket lid start with a #4 hook if there not sticking go down one size there "ripping biters" will up date again next week. Stop by and see Rick for bait selection or advice and be sure to let him know your here for the tournament. He wants to help sponsor next year if he can and I want him to get an idea of our possible customer base.

Perch=
Sand shrimp will be your bait of choice if your targeting perch and start with a #4 hook and go down one size at a time if your getting hit and not hooking up. You can retain 15 perch on top of the rest of your catch. Since its sand shrimp I'm guessing you want to be bouncing on the bottom and can run 3 hooks on your line.

Bottom fish=
Rubber bait fish on 1 ounce or smaller jig head 3-4 inch minnows work real good and you will have a Pro-Cure scent to help get them on your rigging.

Crabs=
A pot, rope, and bouy add a dead fish carcass or chicken put it on the bottom pull it on your way back in.

Salmon=
Look at Minnowmagnet's rigging copy it and follow him as closely as possible without tangling his line.
Seriously I'm not the goto guy for salmon so the guys more experienced can chime in but if they don't here's my best guess.
Troll a plug cut herring or shrimp behind a small flasher with a weight dropper 2-8 ounce depending on current and troll speed.

Good luck and don't fall out of your boat.

I found this tutorial from Steelhead University that will maybe help some "less experienced" fishermen hook up in Tillamook.

http://steelheaduniversity.com/Spinner_fishing_Tillamook_Bay.html

If nothing else--- it can give you more ammo.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

One of the commercial fishermen reported 3 fin clips boated yesterday in the bay so hopefully it's a start to a good run.

Postings and other information relating to the May Day event mention many locations in Tillamook Bay.  The Ghost Hole, the South Channel, the South Jetty, the Oyster House Hole, the Picket Fence, Ray's Dolphin, Memaloose boat launch, etc.  I don't know where these features are located.  An annotated map would be helpful.
