I'm camping at South Beach State Park, OR in a couple of weeks.  Does anyone know of any accessible places to launch a couple of kayaks in the upper part of the bay (with nearby parking)?
Regards

I've launched from South Beach Marina and also the Toledo Boat Ramp -- both are very civilized ramps for Power Boats and you can park and launch kayaks easily.  Those are very easy and you can launch and retrieve any time with the tides.  Are you going to be crabbing, or just checking out the sea lion rafts?  Maybe fishing?

I launch at the beach at the road end between Hatfield Marine Science Center and NOAA.  It's a bit muddy at low tide but it does provide a nice area without powerboats.  Parking is allowed at the road end.

Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated.  Mostly a sight-seeing trip, but might toss in a couple of crab rings while we're on the water.  Possibly some clamming as well, a couple of fairly low tides while we're there.

Not sure if the herring are still spawning in the bay, but jigging for herring on a sabiki can be really fun.  Or if you paddle out just past the bridge along the south jetty there are lots of rocks that hold rockfish, lings and perch if you toss some white grubs or Lancer Jigs.
