Quick question for those who have been on the Columbia recently.

How fast is the current approximately?

I would like to guesstimate my time ibn the water between two points. Specifically I5 bridge to Davis Bar

Totally depends on the tides.  You can expect anywhere from .5 to 3MPH.  Wind is going to affect your plans more than current will.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Go take a look at Deep Zoom Nautical Charts. Zero in on the location you need and it will provide you with current speed, depth, tides and more.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

In early September when flows are lowest the incoming tide will actually reverse the flow.  You can really tell while diving.
