Whats going on everyone? I'm moving to Seattle from DC this weekend and am eager to get in touch with others in the area. Unfortunately, I'm selling my kayak and likely will not purchase another one for about a year (space constraints that come with living in a studio), so I just want to learn as much as I can on these forums or meet some fellow fishermen in the area. I had a Tarpon 120 and primarily fished for bass, but am excited to go after some salmon. Looking forward to meeting a few of you guys.

Welcome to the forum and soon to be Seattle. This summer the Pink Salmon will be all over Puget Sound and will be fun to go after on shore even if you don't have a kayak. Where in Seattle will you be moving to?

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your move. This is a great place to learn. It has become a hobby to check in at lunch, even when I can't be out fishing. Learning ever day.

Hermes-

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll be living in Belltown. Doesn't seem like the ideal location to live for fishing, but the upside is I'll be walking distance to work.

Where abouts on the Puget would you recommend for shore fishing?

Belltown is nice! I recommend Lincoln Park and Golden Gardens for Pink Salmon. They are both 15 minutes away from you. First week of August they will be in those beaches. Would be happy to meet up with you then or sometime before for other salmon opportunities. I also have an extra inflatable kayak you can borrow if you ever want to paddle and fish.

We can chat some more and get you on the water when you're ready and settled in. Hit me up anytime if you have any questions.
Safe travels and we will see you around here and in town.

Thanks for the info! It would be awesome to chat and or meet up sometime. I'd love the opportunity to go after some salmon before August. I'll definitely be in touch!

Welcome to Seattle! One place I've had a lot of luck catching pinks and silvers from the shore is Langus park on the Snohomish river, on the north side of Everett. It's about a half hour drive from Belltown on a good traffic day.  Welcome to the forum, and good luck this salmon season

I hope you didn't move here to escape DC's traffic...  There are very few "good traffic days" getting thru Seattle, so it'll likely be at least twice that  :-\  But even with traffic, this Washington is far far far better than the eastern one!  Welcome

I moved here to Seattle from Maryland 9 years ago. I will never move east of Montana again.

I keep my kayak in a spare bedroom, only thing that keeps me from getting a boat is paying for storage. With or without a kayak, if I'm fishing I usually go to Edmonds, a few miles north of Seattle. There's a fishing pier to fish from, or beach to launch from.

Welcome to the best part of the US.
