Left my house early to fish the slack tide which was around 8 am this morning.  Launched about 715 and hooked into the king around 720.  I was trolling a herring behind a flasher in about 15 feet of water.  I then headed out to deeper water (my understanding of the regulations are that once you catch a king, you have to be at least a mile off shore to keep fishing).  Caught my first halibut off a kayak around 1030 in about 60 feet of water.  Neither fish was very big...I'd guess around 10-12 pounds each, but no complaints from me!  Conditions were pretty good and I found the "spot forecast" for today to be pretty accurate...10 knot winds and 1-2 ft wind swells and fortunately no shorebreak whatsoever.  Made it back to anchorage by 330.  Tight lines!
