I made this from an old golf club and some stainless steel

Never thought of a golf club. Nice execution.

My lettering could have been more on the baseline, but the handle wrap turned out better than I thought it would going into it.

That's a nice compact harpoon.

A slip-tip or a harpoon head needs to go all the way through the fish to make it more likely that it will turn sideways on the far side of the fish.  If you have some problems with getting a secure sideways head, you could install a somewhat longer metal shaft so it's easier to stick the head all the way through whatever kind of fish you are whacking.  A disadvantage of a longer metal shaft is that it might weigh enough so it will overcome the floatation of the wood shaft.

Ripndrag that looks better equipped to be used as a relocation tool for the fur bags. Me thinks the recoil my put you somewhere close to not sitting in your kayak....... But me likey! Just don't shot it on a coveted back deck with closed windows behind you DAMHIK!
