My Kid Caught her first fish! (With Help)

The wife, kids, and I went out on Sunday to Offut lake for a few hours. My oldest Madilyn (3) got her first fish. Here is the video. Watch until the end and you will see why rod-leashes are important.

I have a 3yr old granddaughter named Maddie (Madison) too - and she has the same pink Barbie pole. Can't wait until she gets her 1st fish, too. Great job getting your kids out on the water and introducing them to a great sport...

She is begging to go again. She wants to catch a shark. I think we may go and try to play around with some dogfish out on the sound.

Awesome!  My kids are all grown but I remember how excited they were!  I also have a one year old granddaughter, with more on the way!  So fun watching kids catch fish.

I can't wait to get my 3yr old grandson his first kayak fish

I commend you for taking your kid fishing.  That alone makes you a hero.  But next time, keep your hands off the rod.  Give her the full experience, and let her catch her own fish. Watch the video again and you'll see what I mean.
