It was nice to see all the slabs come in Thursday.  Marie and I didn't have it in us to go out after the mornings events.  We almost packed up and left, but stayed since Roland's family was staying.   Saturday,  Marie hooked into a big one,  but lost it after 10 minutes.  Really wanted to see her catch one this year.

Epic highs and lows that weekend. Thanks to all who helped Roland and I also wish I could have known him. Dino and crew are some truly great people. Thanks for saying it so well Jeff.

Mark and Jeff pulled off the ultimate kayak fishing trip ever. Strolled into WA and willed donkey flatties on their yaks under one of the tightest seasons. UNREAL! Great to have you guys in town. My fish didn't have the size but I'll take the 2 chickens. Thank you FG for the loaner kayak and fish cleaning precision, thank you Mark for the best scotch I've drunk... seriously, wow!, and thank you Jeff and Craig for the killer electrician skills.

This was my second fish of the weekend. This is also the reason I will likely not be using that particular gaff clip anymore. End of the day it was my own damn fault though for not securing the fish when I had the chance.

Nice catch guys.  I wish my halibut trips were that close to shore.  I never have any company when I go out cause nobody wants to go 5 miles or more offshore.  How deep is the water ya'll fishing in and what were you using for bait?  I have heard some ya'll use greenling, but that isn't an option in Northern California unless you fish for them in less than 120ft because of our groundfish regs.

All of these fish were caught in less than 150 ft of water. Unfortunately, the specific bait will remain classified, but big, oily presentations seemed to do the trick.
