Who out there has really cool installations of electronics that you would be willing to share?

Great looking install Lee! Really nice idea for those of us fortunate enough to have multiple kayaks.

Is there only one person out there in kayak land that has a nice install on their fish finder?

Lee, how are you liking that now that you've been out in it several times?  Looks like a lot of hardware to get tangled up in.  I still like it though.

The wires are zip tied and never need to be messed with.  It's not gotten tangled in anything yet.  It's really super simple.  Marie takes it out of the hatch, hands it to me, I fasten it to the rails and press the on button.  Easy peasy.

That's great to hear. I got the setup at the NA sale, now I just need the electronics.

In my opinion i think the Lowrance pocket on the Hobies make that the cleanest option.  You can drag your boat onshore without worry.

Yes I agree the Hobies with the Lowrance pocket are the cleanest factory setup.  I am installing a Lowrance on my 2014 Outback.  I was curious about quick disconnects on the hull for both power and the transducer. What type a electrical plugs/quick type disconnect plugs are people using.  My goal is to pull off the FF and be able to unplug everything for transport and storage.

I agree that the Hobie transducer pocket is a great way to mount a transducer.  It protects the transducer and provides good transducer performance.  I have a Humminbird fish finder which is mounted on a gear track on my Revolution with a Scotty Gearhead mount.  I also have a four-inch long piece of gear track mounted inside the front hatch of the kayak.  The  cables are attached to the base of the fish finder with a screwed-in bracket, so it isn't practical to detach the cables from the base.  When I'm transporting the kayak or using the kayak without a fish finder, I take the fish finder head off its base, and move the base from the gear track on the gunwale to the gear track inside the front hatch.  The transducer wire runs across the rubber gasket inside the hatch.

I was a bit disappointed that the "Lowrance Ready" portion of the Malibu Kayaks wasn't designed for the 83/200+455/800 transducer. Granted that transducer is a hog, it hangs down below the hull enough that should I slide over a rock just right, it will contact with the transducer.

Being aware of it, I haven't had any issues in the 3 times I've hit the local lakes this year, but when I start hitting the Sound in less than a month for crabbing I'll really be able to tell how much of an issue it is. Thankfully due to the hull design, when the kayak is on the ground, the transducer is protected  by the V shape.
