I'm looking to get out Thursday as well, but won't be cracking it too early. Probably depart PDX around 0630 for a launch by 0930.

Thursday looks pretty good. You'll want to watch the wind though. Saturday the wind looks pretty nasty by noon. I'd probably skip that day or get on the water at first light and plan to be done by noon. Id love to get out there but I don't think I can sneak out.

Was thinking about going to PC on Thursday but might switch to Depoe to meet up. What website do you use to look up Depoe bay ocean conditions? I've been using magic seaweed for sunset and pc.

i dont go to pc cuz i don t have a truck and dont want to risk getting stuck plus dont have beach wheels and dont want to drag yak thru sand and the thought of doing a huli  does not appeal to me as much as launching from a boat ramp at depoe. plus dory`s and surfers crap i hear about, depoe is no problem unless u have some asshole powerboater coming in at time u are in the slot and the sonofbeech had radio and monitored channel 80 too,  or is it sumabeeoch! and dam near got swamped. other than that one time so far i really like doing depoe. so, will be out thursday early with my bud, then saturday on hopefully my daughters first time in the salt, although for that we may end up at yaquina or devils lake...but hopefully not. safety in numbers, lets go all!!!

i use noaa forecast and zoom in to goverment point, also keep my eye on coast guard bar report and the national weather service web cam along with trollers lodge web cam couple days before i go. but especially the noaa forecast.

Here is a link to NOAA  for bar conditions up and down the coast http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/pqr/marine/bars_mover.php

Trollers Lodge also has a webcam looking at the "Jaws"  @ Depoe Bay

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Fishing was good on Thursday!  Had to be off the water early or we would have had limits for sure. Great to finally get out to depoe bay! Thanks for the invite Mark!
