Sitting here waiting on a call from Alaska Raft and Kayak that the shipment of Hobies has arrived. I need to go pick up my new outback so I can get it set up for the Barbie classic. The little sit in has served me well, but time to step up to a more stable vessel.

I'm in the same boat, pun intended. Waiting for an Outback from Austin Kayak.

I am picking mine up in the morning, they didn't get from the port to the store fast enough today.

How were the prices with Alaska raft compared to ordering online? I've been considering an outback as well. I've ordered from Austin canoe/kayak in the past. Great customer service but the shipping kills ya.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

I called Alaska Raft and Kayak about the inbound 2015 Outback 12's... they are asking $2599 , that price should be out the door here in ANCH.

ACK was $2299. plus shipping, but have not got a recent shipping quote from them.

the best shipping quote I could get on a kayak was $750. Now that the kayak vendors down south understand shipping costs up here you are going to be hard pressed to beat the price at AK R/K for Hobie or REI for Native.

Definitely check out prior thread "where did you get your kayak" for a bit more info.

I had mine shipped up from Hobie Cats NW - and the shipping was nowhere near $750 - I think just under $200, and took 10 days or so.   Last years price though, and many people get those big quotes.

2015's have the new fins, new seat, at the AK raft price and local availability you may be right though - if my wife likes the up-close-and-personal fishing we may just be in to see them here!

ACK charged me a smoking deal of $211 for shipping on my outback and accessories.  The said that they ate part of the cost in shipping to Fairbanks . I just have to live with slow boat and my ship not coming in until next week.  Than means no mecca to the coast until September for me. Hope to meet some of you folks then. Looks like berry picking this weekend.

Spent all afternoon getting mine set up with rod holder and fish finder, all I need now is some water.
