WDFW doesn't have anything recent posted yet.  Only the July 23rd chinook closure (https://fortress.wa.gov/dfw/erules/efishrules/erule.jsp?id=1642)

Junk Jigs "BEST USE OF ACTUAL JUNK" category - "That tape should have been a prized possession and not junk. That will be a collectors item in 30 years!” & “There sure is a lot of junk in there.”

Portion of Marine Area 9 closes to salmon fishing

Action: Fishing for salmon is closed south and west of a line from Foulweather Bluff to Olele Point to the Hood Canal Bridge within Marine Catch Area 9 (Admiralty Inlet), except angling for salmon from shore is allowed from the Hood Canal Bridge to the northern boundary of Salsbury Point Park.

Effective Date: Aug. 6 through Aug. 15, 2015.

Species affected: Coho and pink salmon.

Location: Waters south and west of a line from Foulweather Bluff to Olele Point to the Hood Canal Bridge in Marine Catch Area 9.

Reason for action: Closing salmon fishing in this area is necessary to protect mid-Hood Canal chinook per state-tribal management plans agreed to during the North of Falcon pre-season process.

I realize this fish is a little small for the brag board, but I figured I'd share it because a: I caught it this afternoon off of Dash Point; b: this was the first humpy I've ever caught; and c: this was also the first salmon I've landed in my new ride.

So, it's a bit of a (somewhat pathetic) brag for me, and, hopefully, a sign of good things to come for this Saturday.  I didn't see a ton of fish being caught, but there were quite a few nets out.  If a noob like myself can do it, I'm sure that you seasoned vets are going to bang 'em up.

Are you registered? You need to get on that...

I still have the campsite if anyone wants it.
I know that we have to use barbless hooks but are there any other gear restrictions we need to know about?

2 single point barbless hooks are the max. Look at using a 1/0 siwash on your Buzz Bombs, spoons, and spinners with octopus on anything else.

Don't sweat it too much. The better and more accessible parts of the 9 pink fishery will stay open.

Don't listen to Zee. He's trying to lead you astray so that he can gain an edge over the competition.

Instead, use 20/0 circle hooks on everything.
