Oops missed this. Tough fishing today. Fog in the morning. Blazing heat in the afternoon.

Morning session I stayed super close. Got a four foot or so dogfish shark.

Afternoon I got greedy. Landed two about the same size, kept one. 15lbs ish. Maybe bigger.

May try again tomorrow.

Sweet! Super close like 200 ft off shore? I plan on Anchoring in the kelp beds and use all my salmon scraps with circles and on the slack use jigs. Going to tie a mesh bag on my anchor line with scraps too.  How r u going to cook the sand shark? Looks like u could get about 2 to 3 pounds of meat off of it. I heard they eat good.

First I was out about a mile but it got to weird. So I got about 400 yards in 25 to 30 ft of water. Action has been better deeper but the larger fish seem to be close to shore.

I've got an anchor system and chum bag ready to go. Just not sure if I want to use it. Seems like a lot of work...not that trolling isn't. I may try it.

I'm going to hit the low on Saturday. I had really good action off anchor River in the edge of where it goes from shallow to deep. It was super snaggy there so must be some structure.

Might try the anchoring thing on the high tide if morning doesn't produce results.

Hopefully the fog isn't bad tomorrow.

Oh and in going to try the classic fish and chips.  Looks like super chalky ultra white meat. Nice and firm. Not as much meat as I thought after trimming off the dark meat. Looks good though. The last time I had it, it was completely edible and good...just not as good as halibut or salmon.

Keep in mind you can now fish inside the conservation zone as of July 1.  The shelf off of Anchor Point has some interesting structure...well more so than the rest of the inlet.

Huge tides today. Should be interesting.
