anyone up to anything this weekend portland area?  i have sat morning and all day sunday available.  was thinking about heading up to merwin dam for kokanee, floating the lewis for steelhead (which is starting to slow) or just driving to bonneville and bank fishing steelhead and sturgeon.  they opened retention of sturgeon last friday and the bite is iffy but there is a TON of chrome passing through that area.

i'm open to suggestions, would just like to get out and be wet.

My wife just finished grad school this week, and is torn between vegitating and celebrating this weekend.  If she veges, I was thinking of hitting the Nehalem for summer chinook, or Laurence Lake (near Hood River) for trout.

nehalem huh?  interested in company?  did a quick search on ifish and not a lot turned up but it seems some fish are being caught.  lemme know if this is something that develops past wishful thinking and congrats to the wife.

Looking 90% certain I'll be fishing Saturday.  I'm planning on fishing the merry go round in front of Wheeler and the boat ramp.  I doubt I'll be able to leave PDX before 8-9 AM.

The tides on Sunday look more favorable, but I'll probably be doing something with the wife then.  I've got a bunch of leftover brined herring from spring chinook fishing that I'll be drowning.  Shoot me  a PM if you'd like to carpool (I'm in SE PDX).
