Hi everyone.  My name's Tom.  A mostly retired guy from Ocean Shores.  Have owned a Jackson Cuda 14 for the last year and have slowly been gathering gear and building confidence.  Still haven't had the courage to go out to open water (and may never), but have fished near shore in the bay several times with mixed success.  Have been lurking as a guest for a while and thought I'd contribute when I can.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Welcome and hope you have a great time!
So many smart people on this forum.  Any question you have they can answer- if not with wisdom and experience, with a full dose of biting sarcasm.
Happy fishing!

   Welcome TomT,

Have you had a chance to fish the "sunken jetty" at Ocean Shores yet?
It fairly easy and some decent fish can be caught there.
I Have even caught salmon on the outside...

Might be something for you to try.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Caught lots of sea bass and a few ling cod off the sunken jetty this Spring.  It kind of tapered off as summer wore on.   Haven't tried for salmon out there, but did try off the jetty when the bait was in.  All I hooked was a 6' sixgill shark.  Line broke before I had to figure out how to get my lure back!   :)
