Only had about 2 hours open to fish, but had some luck trolling herring at 40' off the break in front of Mineral Creek.

It was pretty great out there... And I sure wish I'd had more time. This was my best fish out of 3 in just 2 hours. Did my soul good to be out there!

Ive always fished Allison Pt. for shore fishing and Sawmill bay from boat for day trips. I'm  new to kayak fishing. Where  is the best launch to  fish Mineral Creek?

By the ferry/city dock is a parking lot next to I think Crowley. Free kayak launch right there though it does have a few steps.

Agree that the public launch is optimal -- we had thick morning fog and I was leery of the ferry so went out to Mineral Creek and walked my boat back in the Wheeleez cart. Good exercise! If it hadn't been foggy I'd have preferred the time on the water.
