So...I would like to report that halibut is abundant as I remembered.  This is breakdown of today's catch:

- 8am launched for 8:40 high tide
- 40-60ft four halibut 10-15lb...3 had lot of parasites and didn't put up a good fight...all released
- 70-75ft one 40lb(used gaff and tried to manhandle the beast...I lost the battle...technically I got tail slapped before it went overboard
2nd butt hooked and gaff in belly and it stopped struggling...successful securing the fish
- returned early due to wind/waves.

All PB are reporting 70-80ft and hauling 30-60lb butt with few kings around 70ft.

During high tide I just travel up north.  One interesting thing to note...when I hooked two large halibut, I was underneath a large bait ball, and just under an hour after the slack tide.

Forgot to mention what I found in the stomach...black gooey mess and tentacles...left over octopus.
