Morning session yielded three halibut. Released them all. Two were tiny. Less than 10 pounds. One was a keeper at maybe 15 to 20 but was covered in sea lice and it felt soft so back it went. Try again soon for the high tide.

It's official.  Work just blew my weekend up right after buying three trays of bait.  I'm fishing next weekend at WG for sure if anyone else is.

Oh man that looks good! I'd have to have it sashimi style right now! Lol

Bummer Alfishin. I'll be fishing somewhere though Homer might be in the list for kings.

I am going to try next weekend for WG/Homer depending on the weather. Seward if the weather is not cooperating. The rates have dropped so I'm hotel camping Friday to Sunday somewhere.

Love the hotel camping option.  Too old... Or fat... Or both to enjoy the ground anymore.  We have our daughter's bday party  from 11-1 next weekend.  Thinking to shoot directly to Seward after.  But not hearing great things from down there this season.  Very spotty,  it sounds like.

No go today. Thought I saw Nick and Mac high tailing it the other way. Almost do-able in the morning but then it blew up. We all dodged a bullet. Not fishing sucks. Being caught in 8 ft seas???  A lot more "sucky"!!!  Spot forecast called for 1-2 ft. It was probably three behind the big swells.

I was there for morning tide because the spot forecast said 1-2 feet.  :spittake: I got out 1/2 mile and turned back due to white caps forming everywhere. Beautiful fishing day ruined...Sigh.

Friends on PB reported Silvers at Seward and super calm weather.  No silvers for me but caught 20 black cod, 1 sickly flounder, 3 brown cod and 3 pollock.  All released.

I should keep some black cod next time.  Been wanting to try black cod miso recipe.

Did fish WG but only brief. Did not get past 30 feet before 5' waves changed my mind. I did get to try out the dry suit in loading gear for beaching. Also learned you can surf in an OutBack. That was a fun adventure.
