It was a cool and rainy Labor Day Weekend in western Montana.  The snowline crept further down the mountains every night.   On Saturday, the rain pounded down most of the day while I pedaled around on the Helena Regulating Reservoir, catching 17-18 inch kokanee with big hooked jaws, some starting to turn reddish.  I didn’t take any pictures due to the rain.  To take my mind off the rain, I thought about the snow-related fun which will be available soon – hunting, ice fishing, backcountry skiing, and snowmobiling.  On Monday I caught three lake trout on Lindbergh Lake in dryer weather.

Looks like good times Pete. We haven't had any snow yet here in Salt Lake, but its just a matter of time since the temps have dropped the last few evenings. Then it'll be the usual initial powdering, iced edges on the lakes and dragging out the snow blower. Congrats on the fish!
