Tried the Ghost Hole in Tillamook Bay late this morning because I heard that salmon were already being caught there. It was not disappointing. I wasn't out for very long but most of the boats I talked to had fish. There were some real dandies caught but I had to content myself as usual with little chinooks today. It was crazy to drop my herring down for my first pass and have a fish on before I could even put the rod in the holder. It was literally a hook-up in the first 10 seconds of fishing!
I just wanted to share the experience as if there isn't enough salmon over-stimultaion right now on this forum. Yet another system teeming with fish...

Congrats! Any chinook in the boat is a great chinook.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Way to go again Brian but I think we need to suspend you from salmon fishing or there going to close the whole season. Your going for extra crispy as hot as you are this year.

And the winning year continues!  Nice job on the quick limit.  Don't you wish every trip was like that?

Thanks dudes.
ch10dimes, I launched from the town of Garibaldi boat ramp. I kind of decided awhile ago that $5 is worth convenience of a nice boat ramp if you have wheels. I'm sure you could get away without paying if you are cheap.
Mark, the Dick's Sure Spin helmets have been really working great for me this year. Before I thought they were kind of like training wheels for the cut-plug user, but now I am a committed toothpick-toting member of the Sure Spin community.

Nothing wrong with little ones! They fit a lot better in the fish bag anyway.
